How to choose a right display – refresh rate

Refresh rate refers to the number of times the LED display information is displayed every second under a certain brightness and gray scale. The refresh rate might be lower when a display goes to lower brightness and higher gray scale. Low refresh frequency leads to fluttering visual phenomenon in human eyes; and scan lines in camera. Usually the qualified refresh rate for human eyes should be more than 300Hz, which is as long as the refresh rate is more than 300Hz, with the naked eye human will not see any fluttering on display. If we use the camera to shoot the display, different camera settings require different refresh rate. Generally, at least more than 600Hz would be qualified to have a video without scan lines. With a digital camera, the refresh rate could be easily detected. if it is with a high refresh, the picture the camera shot will be clear, without snowflake points and scan lines. This is especially important when it comes to rental screens and TV broadcasts displays. Under normal circumstances, the 2000Hz can meet the requirements of high speed camera, such as the perimeter display in stadium. High refresh can improve the brightness and color of the display effect, but not the higher the better, over-high refresh rate like 5000hz means nothing to human eyes and normal TV live and broadcast. With a certain diver IC, the refresh rate is in conflict with gray scale, but PWM diver IC can do better in having both high refresh rate and high gray scale.
