A story of a QSTECH customer——Jorge was in trouble

Jorge is the boss of a LED display provider in USA. He was dysphoric and pacing back and forth with a report in his hand. Some files were placed on his messy desk. His CTO Harris was sitting in the sofa in front of him.

Jorge stopped in sudden, and tossed out the report to Harris: “read it, the report regarding to the display for project 1149, I received it this morning from the technology Dep.”

“Yes I sent it. I know it is a nightmare, 90% features that the supplier promised are not implemented.” Harris continued: “this time the situation is totally different. In addition to the strict demands of the display performance, the customer also wants a comprehensive detection and diagnostic system. From the entire display to a single LED, even the driver IC, the customer needs to know what and where the faulty component is. The display must be switched on panel by panel, and have to match the complex steel work and structure of the building site. This is a challenge that I have not met in my 20-years career in LED display field. God knows if there is a real technology that can make this.”

Jorge suddenly growled: “This is the demands of the customer, and I believe this is the demands of the market, let alone this high-end customer. Now the display valued 180 thousand dollars in our factory is nothing to the customer, you don’t want me to take it and tell the customer that all you want are not available, do you? Now you source a supplier who can make it and make it, or scram away with your damn display.”

The air is tense and embarrassing. Furiously Harris stood up and said: “It reminds me a company that visited me months ago. The company has a history of 20 years in LED display R&D and has attended ISE for more than decade years, they are proud of their own control system. Maybe we can give it a try.”

“I don’t want any ‘maybe’. Where is the company?”

“In Xi’an, a city located in central of China.”

“OK, I don’t care where it is. If you believe it can, bring your files and fly their immediately. I want a report on my desk in 1 week.”

One and half months passed, in Jorge’s office. Jorge is sitting on his desk with his coffee in hand. He is staring at a LED panel in front of him. The blue label on this panel shows its identity of QSTECH. It is displaying diagonals, some of them were cut by some LEDs that were taken out.

“Look, Jorge, the control software interface shows all the missed and faulty LEDs and their roughly position, no matter it is an open circuit LED or short one.” Then Harris plugs off a module and a power supply, the diagnostic system responds quickly. “See? Everything is working.”

A little excitement that couldn’t be hidden appears in Jorge’s face: “you have tested everything?”

“yes.”

“you signed the contract?”


“Manufacturing will be started in 24 hours, and the display will be sent in 1 month. I got beers, do you want some?”
